Schools

Teachers,
Use the Shoe-Box campaign

To raise awareness among your students
To the existence of poverty and solitude
.

Many schools, like the Athénée Royale of Pont-à-Celles, have already participated in the shoe box campaign. They help in various ways:

  • by spreading the word to the student’s parents who prepare the boxes at home,

  • by gathering the ingredients and preparing the boxes with the children,

  • by organizing the production and the sale of fruit jam to purchase the contents of the boxes,

  • by adding a drawing or a short note written in class by the children

Your class or your school can also participate!

Specifically

How to prepare the shoe box ?

The shoe boxes contain 7 or 8 food items and beverages (non-alcoholic, non-perishable, easy to open and ready to eat) and a season’s greetings card. When filled, they are wrapped as Christmas gifts.

For more info, see the page Boxes

Where to deposit the boxes ?

Within Brussels: The Samaritains can collect the boxes at your school. Given limited availability of drivers and vehicles, please contact us by telephone(+32 (0)474 540 687) to determine a date and pick-up time at least one week in advance.

Outside Brussels: The Samaritains are unable to pick up the boxes. However, you may deposit the boxes in any one of our numerous storage locations. For a significant number of boxes, it is preferable to contact the storage location or the campaign coordinator prior to delivery.

We can help you !
